Domaine les Roches Bleues Cotes de Brouilly 2014
The Blue Rocks Estate is a family estate dating back four generations. Located on the southern slope and sunny Mount Brouilly on the small village of Odenas, it dominates the plain of the Saône and Bresse. The cultivated area is 8 hectares, of which 5ha in Brouilly and 3ha in Cote de Brouilly. Their wine is an exclusive cuvée, named Des Lys - partly because of the lilies planted nearby, but also because it rhymes with délice (delight). Not only are the lilies very pretty, but they also give an accurate guide to the expected harvesting date of the vines - 90 days after they flower.

Tasting Note 鑒賞:
From a fourth generation family run Domaine, this is their top old vine cuvée from 50 year old vines. Pale in colour, bright cherry on the nose, hints of spice and liquorice too. It's bright, crunchy and juicy, again cherry fruits to the fore, tannins are ripe with good acidity too. The fruit has a lovely vibrant sweetness, but the overall feel is of a juicy quite savoury red.
