I believe that most military fans worship Alexander the Great who never losses a battle in his lifetime.
There is also a victorious general in the wine, Montalbera Laccentao Ruche di Castagnole Monferrato. From the vintage of 2010 to 2022, it won the highest honour of the Gambero Rosso for 3 glasses. The renowned wine critic Luca Maroni rated its 2010 t0 2022 full scores of 99 except for the vintage of 2014.
Ruche was once on the verge of extinction. After 40 years of researches and studies, it is now a unique species. Some research suggests that this grape variety is very similar to Pinot Noir. Most likely a genetic mutation in Italy. With delicate body, it encompasses a huge variety of aromas. And it can handle different styles of food with ease. For this Chinese New Year, it is definitely a good choice to pair with the multi flavours Poon Choi. Whether it's the Lunar New Year Cup soccer game, horse racing, Mah Jong ...it's a blessing to have a victorious general by your side!
I have been a fan of Ruche since 2010, and her performance in 2013 was truly astonishing. Although the subsequent vintages are impeccable in terms of structure and balance and have different characters, they just lack the excitement of 2013. I tasted the 2022 at the end of last year that just came out of the cellar, its excitement is no less than that of 2013. After 3-4 more months of ageing, it is now very lovely. I strongly believe that 2022 will be sold out soon. In order to let more wine fans know the merits of Ruche, we pay back to the wine lovers at unparalleled prices. I hope that Hong Kong, like Ruche will survive the desperate situation and rebound from the bottom!
