絲滑的施赫
相比起赤霞珠、黑品諾、美樂，施赫葡萄的受歡迎程度略為遜色。大多數情況下施赫都會勾兌其他品種葡萄，很少見到單一施赫葡萄紅酒。當然大名鼎鼎的奔富又作別論。
施赫葡萄頗難玩味；儘管她的樽齢可以有20年或以上，卻很難掌握他的巔峰期，而且他的巔峰期也相對短暫。如果能捕捉到他的巔峰，那種享受難以言傳。一般來說未夠成熟的施赫會被皮革、香料、可可、咖啡、黑椒味主導。當她踏入高峰期時，花果香味會爆炸，藍莓、黑莓、黑櫻桃、紫羅蘭和黑松露的味道十分誘人；最要命的是她那特殊的酒體，有點像甘草酸梅湯一般，在你的舌頭底部有微微痕癢的感覺，驅使你繼續喝下去。
這種特殊效果，是因為施赫葡萄糖分較高，他們的細胞壁也較厚。那突然而來的成熟，會因為滲透作用，讓細胞壁爆開，留下嶙峋的破壁，引起那份搔癢的感覺，但卻偏偏細滑如絲。使得這酒又可愛又可恨。
澳洲的施赫那麼受歡迎不無道理，因為那兒的施赫果香味較為明顯。然而冷門的意大利施赫也有佼佼者。
托斯卡納的桃雅麗坦，可算是第二代的超級托斯卡納。人人都認識西施佳雅，那片位於Bolgheri的葡萄園，其實是圖雅家擁有的。1998年之後，麗坦決定不再續租約，自家開始出產葡萄酒。他們的旗艦標都是波爾多風格的勾兌，但他們的《Per Simpre》 （永恆）標，是百份百施赫葡萄，而且釀得十分出色，卻被飲家忽略。
2020年的，《永恆》，透着熟藍莓、紫羅蘭、還有層層疊疊的菸草、皮革、和甜香料。單寧豐富而幼滑、結構平衡且高雅。餘韻綿長，洋溢着巧克力和雪松香。
比起澳洲的Grange，這瓶酒的性價比好得驚人！

Silky Syrah
Compared to Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Merlot, Syrah grapes are less popular. Syrah is usually blended with other grape varieties, and single-varietal Syrah wines are rare. Of course, the renowned Penfolds is an exception.
Syrah grapes are quite challenging to appreciate; although they can age for 20 years or more, their peak is difficult to pinpoint, and it is relatively short. If you manage to capture it at its peak, the enjoyment is indescribable. Generally, an immature Syrah is dominated by leather, spice, cocoa, coffee, and black pepper notes. When it reaches its peak, floral and fruity aromas explode, with enticing flavors of blueberry, blackberry, black cherry, violet, and black truffle; most importantly, it has a unique body, somewhat like a licorice plum drink, leaving a slightly itchy sensation at the back of your tongue, compelling you to continue drinking.
This special effect is due to the high glucose content and thicker cell walls of Syrah grapes. That sudden ripening, due to osmosis, causes cell walls to burst open, leaving jagged, broken walls that evoke a ticklish sensation, yet remain silky smooth. This makes the wine both endearing and frustrating.
The popularity of Australian Syrah is well-deserved, as its Syrah wines there have more pronounced fruit aromas. However, the lesser-known Italian Syrah also boasts outstanding wines.
Tuscany's Tua Rita can be considered a second-generation Super Tuscan. Everyone knows Sassicaia, but the vineyard in Bolgheri is actually owned by the Tua family. After 1998, Tua Rita decided not to renew its lease and began producing its own wine. Their flagship labels are Bordeaux-style studs, but their "Per Simpre" (Eternal) label, made entirely of Syrah grapes and exceptionally well-crafted, is often overlooked by wine connoisseurs.
The 2020 "Per Simpre" reveals ripe blueberries, violets, and layers of tobacco, leather, and sweet spices. Rich yet smooth tannins, a balanced and elegant structure. A long finish, bursting with aromas of chocolate and cedar.
Compared to Australian Grange, this wine offers amazing value!
